The last thing Lauren Owens wants is to reconnect with Seth Chartrand, the man who broke her heart in college. At the fundraiser for Magnolia College, she is talked into auctioning off a week of meals. Seth outbids everyone else in order to obtain some safe and fun recipes for his son Jake, who has severe food allergies. Lauren determines that she will not allow herself to be attracted to Seth any longer, but when she starts receiving threatening notes and phone calls, which escalate into even more dangerous occurrences, she sees more and more of Seth. Seth is deeply afraid that the skeleton found under the sidewalk may be his missing sister, Ellen. Despite his attraction to Lauren, he is also afraid she may never agree to see if there could be a future for them.
