Series: Homecoming * Heroes * -- Caitlyn, overnight, becomes a mother to twin five-year girls. Her sister and husband, both soldiers, died in action. Caitlyn is the girls guardian. Caitlyn has to leave her job in New York to return home to Texas to assist her mother with the girls. She also has to learn how to grieve for a sister she didn't really know and didn't understand as well as learn to love and protect her nieces. Caitlyn meet an old school chum who is now an army Chaplain on the military base. Both are avoiding grieving for their love ones for different reasons but find that to accept the love of another, the grieving has to take place. During all this, they are helping a little boy overseas come to America for a much needed operation. Excellent read, emotional at times. Beautifully written.
