Not Another Bad Date by Rachel Gibson

Adele returns to her hometown in Texas only to run into her former love, Zac.  She was unaware that he is living there.  The two broke up years ago, but when she sees him she remembers the pain of their break-up.  (I understand her upset, but truthfully, in the situation he really didn’t have another alternative.)  Now both of them are living in this town (her temporarily, him permanently)  can the continue to bump into each other without having more.  I really enjoyed this book.  I thought RG did a great job showing the life of a pro-athlete (Zac is a former player) and the issues regarding their initial break-up seemed realistic.  I also liked how she developed the relationships between the characters.  What I didn’t like was the ending – seemed very rushed to me.  However, this is now my 4th RG book and I am now planning on picking up some of her older books – including See Jane Score, which I hear is a great one. Totals – 95- 66 Harlequin, 21 Non-Harlequin, 8 audio, 3 re-read TBR Challenge – 15 out of 87 TBR2 Challenge – Books Acquired – 49 books, 53 books read, 34 library books (87 total print) NFM

TBR--The Born Readers

Hi Cady...

Rachel Gibson is always a good read!  I don't have this one.  I'm so glad to have my computer back & see what everyone has been reading.  My books are all posted so now I can catch up with my favorite threads, blogs, etc.

Have a great weekend. Smile

Take care, happy reading,

I don't have this one yet

I don't have this one yet either.

See Jane Score was my first read by RG, and the book that spured me to collect her backlist.

See Jane Score

Cady--I read See Jane Score, and it was really good.  I even sent it to my sister in China, and I usually only send her books that she asks for or authors that I know she likes, but See Jane Score was sooooo good that I had to ship it!

I have the one you reviewed in my TBR, but since I didn't enjoy the book in the series that immediately preceded it very much, I haven't read it yet.  Since you have such nice things to say about it, I might have to bump it up in the pile a bit.

Donna - Yeah, so glad to

Donna - Yeah, so glad to hear that your computer is back.

Kathy - This is the final book to her series on the female author friends, I thought it was good, lots of humor with just enough emotion.  Fit my mood.  Hope you enjoy it when you find it.

J - Well, now I am going to have to find See Jane Score.  As for this one, like I said to Kathy, it really fit my mood.  THe whole Texas football thing rang true - although I don't live there, it sounded like what they say and the scene with the friend Joe at the end of the date made me crack up.
