I loved this book. This is book two in the series about Cat Crawfield and her lover Bones. I didn't know it was book two when I started it and it didn't matter because I quickly got hooked. This book starts about four years after book one so it felt like it could be book one. Cat is half-vampire. She is the head of a special unit who slay vampires who have gone bad. She is unique because she looks human, has a heartbeat, etc, but she has the super strength and healing abilities of a vampire. Cat is a tough no nonsence heroine who, in a way, reminded me of Eve Dallas from the In-Death books. She is strong and loves her job but she does have one weakness and that is Bones. Bones is a master vampire who trained Cat in her vampire slayer abilities in book one. Bones comes back into her life after searching for her for four years and he's not going to let her get away again. I want to read book one to see how she and Bones came together and how she put her team of guys together.

I'm glad this author is a fast writer. It looks like she has a book out every six months. I checked her site and she only plans to write about six or so books for Cat and Bones but she is planning books for the side characters we meet in this series. Ya!
