Out of the Shadows

The small, friendly town of Gladstone, Tennessee seems the ideal place to raise a family - - until two teenagers are found tortured to death.  Sheriff Miranda Knight will do anything to make her small town safe again, even if it means calling in Noah Bishop, the FBI's psychic profiler.  The last time she and Noah combined their psychic powers, she was almost destroyed.  Now she must learn to trust him again, or she will most certainly die at the hands of the monster who's stalking her town.

If I remember right, this book is the first in the "shadows" trilogy.  If you like a paranormal mystery, with some romance, this is a book for you.  I also loved listening to it.  Its read by CJ Critt, whom I think is great.  Oh, and I found the monster an interesting choice from everyone it could have been.  And he's definitely a monster.

I love Kay Hooper!

She can't write fast enough for me!  I think OOS was one of her best because it focussed so much on Bishop - man! is he sexy or what!  I really liked learning about his younger years and how the special crimes unit developed.

I just read her latest - Blood Dreams, in May.  I always wait for the PB, but found the HC for cheap in a UBS and with my credit I ended up paying half of the cheap!

When the TV show Criminal Minds was first advertised I thought it might be something like the Bishop series - a little paranormal and some psychic elements, but no - boy, was I disappointed!

Hey Ellejay!

Have to agree, Bishop works for me!  I actually listened to this a few years ago.  Obviously long enough between that I didn't remember who the killer was until almost the end.   How was the new one?  Like you mentioned, I'm waiting for the pb because its cheaper.   I don't have any UBS's, bummer.  The library has big sales a few times a year and some smaller sales.  I can pick some up that way occasionally.

Hi Amanda!

Blood Dreams was really good - perhaps not her best (to me) but I still enjoyed it.  (Actually she could write anything and I'd read it! - she's like Linda Howard, I always say LH could write a phone book and I'd like it!)

Bishop had a slightly larger role than usual and since it was the first of a new trilogy and introducing a civilian group helping the special crimes unit, it was quite interesting.
