  After the Harvest . Rylan has spent three years starting a homestead and building a house for his fiancée she rejects him after only getting letters for 3 years and no contact with him, she has married a fellow where she lives.

Judith is trying to earn money as the family is trying to overcome her banker fathers inability to grow enough to pay the feed bill to keep there homestead contract.after the harvest will they have to leave town? 

Ryan helps her out with giving her canning jobs and cooking for him to earn money. They enter things in the fair and he wins a horse pulling contest.
