Premeditated Marriage

Another favourite of mine. Gus Riley who writes about serial killers tracks down his brothers murderer. All the facts and clues lead him to the quiet town of Utopia Montana, straight to Larkin and Son gas and garage. After tinkering with his car to hopefully catch "Charlie" Larkin, he walks into the garage and spots a small man under a vehicle. Only to learn it's not a man it's a woman! Gus being a bit dense at this point looks at her overalls that say "Charlie" and asks for another Larkin, "perhaps this charlie person". Charlotte, "Charlie" agrees to look at his car only to find he broke it himself. Sending a few neighbouring friends to watch after him she searches his car and finds out who he is, and later more importantly What he is. She sets her sights out to keep him away and at bay, but when strange things happen around her she has to fight to prove her innocence against the strong pressenge of Gus. After three men died who knew Charlie, and an attempt on Gus's life has been made, Gus devises a plan to "marry" Charlie and Lure the killer out. Putting his life on the line was one thing, but putting his heart in the hands of a woman that may have killed his brother is another. Gus has to learn to trust Charlie and vise versa in order to stop a killer.
