Drycleaner Mandy Dyer knows something is up when one of her customers, Ardith Brewster, starts bringing bright new clothes to be cleaned instead of the dowdy garments she formerly wore. Ardith says there's a new man in her life but won't give any details except that she had met him at the open house Mandy hosted at the store. Ardith is murdered a short time later and Mandy suspects the killer is one of her customers. The police connect Ardith's killing to the killing of another of Mandy's customers. Mandy is determined to stop the killer before he kills another one of her customers. The killer is determined to stop Mandy before she finds out who he is.
