Roxanne Challis living at home, running her own crafts shop thanks to her father's help, and having fun dating with the local boys. Then Sebastian Blair comes along and it's clear to her that her father wants her to make nice with him. Confusingly, she does feel a bit jealous over him when she sees him at a bonfire with a local girl, Delia, even tho she's there with Mark. When she learns that her father's business is in trouble and everything they own heavily mortgaged and dependent upon the success of said business she thinks twice and accepts Sebastian's invitations. Roxanne has never been a very sexual girl; she doesn't mind Sebastian's kisses but then again she doesn't mind Mark's either, so when he asks her to marry him seemingly out of the blue it's only because of her father's business concerns that she says yes (her father is hoping for a merger with Sebastian's company). Soon enough, Roxanne realizes that she might even be in love with Sebastian but can never marry him under these circumstances – what will happen when she tells him the truth?

Although not my favorite plot, I felt this book was really well done. Some things I especially appreciated, such as the fact that it's Roxanne who feels she has to go out of her way to keep Sebastian sweet for her father's business and how she knows her father would disapprove. I also really liked how although Sebastian would "make love" to Roxanne, he would only initiate making out – he waited for her to come to him willingly, sober, and wanting only him. It was also very interesting to have a heroine not drop dead of lust the moment the hero kisses her! Roxanne tolerates kissing very well, but realistically, it took her a while to warm up and awaken sexually. She was even able to stay detached while being "made love to" - a welcome change from all those heroines who cannot control their bodies! :) Lastly, I should say, I also enjoyed the minor secondary romance in Delia's realizing what she really wants in life and being transformed. Very good book!
