The Reluctant Miss Van Helsing

Format: Print Books
Series: Other

At the begining I will be the first to admit there was a certain charm about this book.  The idea was cute and seemed fresh at first.  But the execution was teeth grinding.  There are constant uses of apropos to nothing modern and pop culture references.  Elvis songs, commercials, you name it this book uses them as catch phrases.  It's, of course, supposed to be cute.  At first it was surprising, then it was irritating and then I wanted to poke Ms Webber with a stick for subjecting me to nearly four hundred pages of having to stop every few pages and try to figure out where the crap I'd heard that before.  I think the book could have had merit for the story and characters but I couldn't even get to that.  Frown
