Rich as Sin by Anne Mather (HP 1567)

Back Cover:

Sexual compulsion…

She was sensitive and naïve - and incredibly innocent - and he was about to ruin her life.  There was no justification for what he was doing.  After all, Greeks respect their women; they don't take advantage of tehm.

But he, of course, was only half Greek.  And he'd obviously forgotten the old Greek proverb that warns, "The man who lights the fire is not immune to being burned."

My Review:

Lovely lovely premise: the hero falls in lust with the heroine, the caterer at his ex-girlfriend's engagement party, and he sets about chasing her.  I love a good chase.  The chemistry is great, the heroine is nicely innocent.  The heroine is engaged, which complicates things, the hero doesn't let the engagement stop him though he knows he should: he has no problem resisting his engaged ex-girlfriend, but he can't resist the engaged caterer he's instantly attracted to.  I love that the hero is a slave to his feelings, that the heroine makes him feel like a horny teen again, it's nice that the heroine is special to him and that it's not just sex as usual for him.  I think this was a good book because the heroine was innocent but mature and knew what she wanted and did what was right.

The only thing I disliked about this book was how the hero pined without the heroine and lost weight and looked like crap without her (close to the end, because they had broken up).  I don't like to see a weak hero physically, though I like to see them emotionally brought to their knees!  Another slight thing I disliked: the hero went to booze when he felt shitty, and he came off sounding like an alcoholic at times.

Rating: 4/5 stars, I enjoyed this, passionate, sensual, it hit the spot.
