Same Time Next Summer by Holly Jacobs-Harlequin Super Romance Everlasting Love-Aug.08

#38-Can a childhood friendship last forever and become more as the years pass by?Or does a separation and different life paths take Stephan Foster and Carolyn Kendal Adams farther apart? This is a "must" read for every romantic out there.

Happily ever after isn't the way life is in 1994 for Carolyn as she holds constant vigil by the bedside of her 5 yr.old daughter,Emma. She is divorced,is away from her bookstore,On The Shelf, and her daughter is in a coma. During this painful period in their life,Carolyn has plenty of time to remember all the summers she and her family spent at their cottage at Heritage Bay,Ohio-near Port Clinton. The added element was their neighbors,Stephan Foster and his family.

Stephan shows up at the hospital after talking with Carolyn's parents to lend support and his strength to her. They truly have a bond that continues despite their different lives, and the doctors find out they are no match for the hope and determination of these two. Fortunately for them,Emma has inherited this trait from her mother, and it does prove to be a valuable thing.

As if Carolyn's life isn't challenging enough, she gets visits from her parents, and her mom is a very controlling and critical person. Then when her ex husband,Ross appears back in the picture and wants to make up for his past shortcomings,it only adds more than she needs.

Does Emma recover or remain in her coma and helpless state? Will Carolyn return to a marriage with her ex Ross or does lawyer,Stephan have a chance to make their longtime friendship more?

There is sooooo much more I am bursting to write but don't want to spoil it for anyone, but I was so enthralled by this wonderful summer read by Holly that I had to tell my entire family about it. Plus since it involved Ohio and alot of the places I have been to visit or know about, made it that much more real. This one will sit on top shelf of my keepers and will be an auto reread each summer if not more often. I can't recommend this one highly enough to be added to everyone's TBR collection. The Everlasting Love magic is still strong.
