Hell's Eight
I loved this one as well as Caine's Reckoning and I'm very much looking forward to the others!

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I didn't really care for this installment. I do look forward to the rest.

Hi Sandi - was there any specific reason you didn't find this
as good as Caine's book, one of your own black spots or just not grabbed by this particular premise?

Sam's Creed
Not sure I can explain this through a message board, but will try.
I know that this is a Spice book, and therefore there will be more erotic/sexual in content. I haven't a problem with that, and in fact quite enjoyed the three Megan Hart books I listened to, which were quite sexually driven, so no problem.
However when I listened to Caine's Reckoning I don't remember it being a sexually driven book. It just grabbed me and didn't let me go. Seems to me as though there was more plot to it than just the chemistry between the characters.
Sam's Creed seemed to be a sexually driven book, and I just didn't really feel the chemistry between Bella and Sam. It didn't feel to me as though there were much plot to this book, and what plot there was seemed to be something of an afterthought.
Maybe I took too long to listen? Maybe there was too much time between Caine and Sam for me to be remembering correctly about Caine's book? I don't know...I just know that this one just didn't have whatever it factor I was looking for at the time.
As I told a friend...I felt like Caine's Reckoning had more story, and Sam's Creed had more sex, and I was hoping for the two stories to be of the same style...that's what I like in my series...and what attracts me to them. Is getting to know characters from one book to the next, and I didn't feel like I got to know anyone in Sam's Creed but Bella and Sam, and their need for one another which seemed contrived to me.
Hope this makes sense and I didn't ramble too much.
