Save the Cat Goes to the Movies is the companion piece to Save the Cat.
It is worth reading and in some ways better than Save the Cat. Snyder examines the genres of commercial films and what makes each of them tick. I had several ah ha moments. And certain things leapt out at me.The book could be very useful if you find it easier to dissect movies than books.It helps to explain the nuts and bolts of the various genres, their forms and the promises they make to the audience.
After reading this book, I was much able to buy into his noticon of Buddy love being the over arching genre for romance.
Snyder will be speaking at the RWA confernece and I suspect will be going over much of this material..
