Kimberly Quincy is an FBI Special Agent. She is married to the oh-so-delicious Mac, of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. And she is five months pregnant.
We met Kimberly as a child when a serial killer killed her sister and her mother and was coming after her. Her father Quincy (another ahhh type of man) was a profiler for the FBI and his ex-wife and children were targeted by the killer in order to get to Quincy.
Then we meet Kimberly AND Mac again when Kimberly was in training at Quantico. Mac was also training there, but with an ulterior motive. He needed help and info on a case involving a diabolical serial killer. Kimberly got involved. (THE KILLING HOUR. You know, I'm thinking I will have to reread this one! It's a great read. But you have to be prepared for gore and I don't mean Leslie Gore.)
Then Kimberly makes an appearance in GONE. Rainie, Quincy's love has disappeared. Quincy doesn't trust the locals to do their jobs. And of course, he is a suspect, so he calls in the troops and Kimberly and Mac come to town to help.
SAY GOODBYE opens up areas of darkness that are seldom seen.
In addition to working a difficult case which Kimberly's higher ups say is not even a case, Kimberly is dealing with self-doubts.
This book is amazing!
Lisa's books usually come out in January. But through the magick of Santa Claus I usually receive it for Christmas. This year there was no Lisa waiting under the tree for me.
Then we found out the release date is July 15. I waited breathlessly. Then one day my daughter came home from work and reached into her magick bag and pulled out Lisa! The paperback version of HIDE. I already have a copy, but I was still happy to see a clean, non-dog-eared version. But with a little quiver in my lip I asked if she knew when SAY GOODBYE would be out. Then, ta-duh! She handed it to me.
I have read every book Lisa Gardner has ever had published. This woman is a great writer. There hasn't been a dud in the batch.
If you like Suspense (with a capital S) and you haven't already read any of her books I would start now. You will never regret it!
If you are already a Lisa Gardner fan, then on July 15, which is a Tuesday, get in line and grab this book. It is much too good to wait for. Think of it as Christmas in July!

You are so lucky!
Bron,
I am soooo jealous. I wanted to go so much, but my daughter has opened a store and guess who is the chief employee!
I've never been to Nationals. I have been to Atlanta for Moonlight & Magnolias, New Jersey, and New England. A friend of mine is speaking at a Canadian conference next fall and I am thinking about going there. But I can't commit right now.
Have fun and please share all the good stuff that is going to happen to you there.
