Matthew Landis (son of Ginger Landis from Cathy's Holiday Heroes) is running for his mother's Senate seat and is an all-around nice guy, so when an article with pictures is printed showing him leaving Ashley Carson's house early one morning, he wants to protect Ashley (the third sister from the Beachcombers series) from the press coverage. He offers her a fake engagement until the fervor dies down. Ashley has her own reasons for agreeing.
This was a great read. Of course, I really enjoy all of Cathy's books. As I said with the last book of hers that I read, my only complaint is that the book was so short--even shorter than the SRS books--I would have liked to have had more time with the characters.

I would also have liked more time with Ashley's sisters and Ginger and Hank. That is one of the reasons that I really enjoy Cathy's books--her characters make guest appearances, and we get to visit with old friends!
