Kate Harris is taking her daughter, Becky on a vacation to a dude ranch. Becky bumps into a cowboy at the airport. This cowboy happens to be Cord McClayne, owner of the dude ranch, the man Kate was going to marry 8 years ago, Becky's father. Kate has never told Becky that Cord is her father and she has never told Cord he has a daughter. Kate was too hurt to tell either of them. She believed Cord was only dating her for her money. That she came second. All they talked about were plans for a ranch. But was Kate just a way of financing their dream? Now that Cord and Becky have met should Kate tell them they are father and daughter? What if Cord decides he wants Becky and plans to take her away from Kate? They start reconnecting again. When she discovers that his ranch is in financial trouble, will it start her thinking that he is after her money. Or will a few words from her father have Cord thinking Kate was spying on him and that Kate was in on his downfall?
A very enjoyable story. The tone was kept light. I thought Cord's reaction to the news that he was Becky's father was well played out. I thought both Kate and Cord were both strong characters, but I think Kate let her father run her life to often
