Secret Santa (Blaze Dec 06)
Secret Santa, a naughty but nice Christmas collection, is an anthology of three stories about secret gift exchanges at work.
He’d Better Watch Out by Janelle Denison
Amanda Creighton has Devilish Desiree, guardian devil, and Angelic Angie, guardian angel, to guide her. Usually Angie wins out but when it came down to it Amanda listened to Desiree and kept Christian Miller, the office bad boy, as her name for the annual Secret Santa exchange. Since she is the keeper of the list no one will ever find out. She gives him a perfectly acceptable blue silk tie as the gift but it is the note inside the tie that causes all the problems.
The Nights Before Christmas by Isabel Sharpe
Cathy Ann Johnson gets barely there lingerie as her Secret Santa gift but she misses the sender’s clue on the envelope and thinks the gift is from the cute guy who winked at her when she opened the gift. So she puts on the lingerie and sets out to seduce Quinlan Justin Alexander, the office hunk who is leaving soon. Needless to say he is surprised when she shows up at his door. I just loved the people watching game these two played in downtown New York.
Mistletoe Madness by Jennifer LaBreque
Tatiana Allen and Cole Mitchell are both restaurant critics and rivals working for Connoisseur. So when they get each other’s names in the Secret Santa exchange things get interesting. They get even more interesting when their boss has a couple of Prozac moments and declares there are eight days to Christmas and eight gifts to be bought and…..they must review four restaurants together for a series of He Said /she Said articles.
These are 3 great stories. I couldn’t pick a favorite. Yes I read them in September because they were short and I wanted something different to read. Fun enjoyable reads.
When I get a little money I buy books, and then if any is left I buy food and clothes..-- Erasmus
