Secret Soldier (Jan. 2005)

Because of a loose acquaintance with a known terrorist, Dr. Abigail diMatteo has unknowningly been chosen to take part in an upcoming mission by the SDDU, an ultra-secret anti-terrorist group utilized by the U.S. government.  It is Spike Logan's job as an operative for the SDDU to gain her trust and cooperation and make sure the mission goes off without a hitch.  All of this despite the fact that they find themselves in a dangerous, war-torn country, and her job is rehabilitating war orphans, not covert anti-terrorist operations.

Nothing, of course, goes according to plan.  Only by working together can the two succeed.  Like Marton's other books, Abigail is strong, smart, and never backs down.  Of course, they fall in love.  Not very realistic, but then, that's not what we read romances, is it?  I'd give it 3 and 1/2 stars overall.
