The Secret Source; The Law of Attraction is One of Seven Hermetic Laws, Here Are the Other Six

Format: Print Books
Series: Other

What is The Secret? A question worth asking, but perhaps, what is the
source of The Secret would be a better one. I asked that question and I
got an answer thanks to Cory Doctorow of Boing Boing Fame, who attended a party thrown by his friends who are publishers and went home with a stack of free books,
only to then photograph them and brag about them on his blog (a blog
that people actually read), making him the envy of the boing boing
reading world. While I was only able to purchase one of the books from
Cory's mighty stack, I think I chose well, and since I read it in the
same month I bought it, I know it was worth the purchase. The book I
chose was The Secret Source: The Law of Attraction is One of
the Seven Hermetic Laws, Here are the Other Six. The book provides a
fascinating history of Hermetism, Rosicrucian, Mentalism, Mesmerism,
and other overlapping religion groups basically having to do with
helping people within their ranks use their own mental powers, while
hiding this knowledge from everyone else. Well, the cat is pretty much
out of the bag and anyone with 25 bucks can purchase this featherweight
volume and be instantly enchanted with a history of mental healing that
will knock your socks off. While not as accessible or self-helpy as The
Secret, The Secret Source provides unity to humanity's religious path
by providing evidence that links the Egyptian God Thoth to Moses,
Hermes, Jesus, Pythagoras and Ptolemy. It links the Emerald Tablet (the
source of the Hermetic Laws) to the Philosopher's stone, the Holy
Grail, Moses's tablets and of course the Ark of the Covenant. Not to
say that I doubt these links, or think this ancient knowledge
invaluable to my modern mind. Actually, I believe the contrary. I
believe there was ancient knowledge that was destroyed by the third
realm that will be rediscovered as we enter the fourth realm. As
Shakespeare once wrote, "there are more things in heaven and earth than
are dreamt of in your philosophy."
