• Sunnie’s fiancé had turned to the dark side of the Skinwalkers and ended up dead. She ended looking for revenge, so she learned everything she could about becoming an assassin, her target: the Navajo Wolf, head of the Skinwalkers. She was out in the desert, her aim on the vehicle approaching the Wolf’s hideout, she she made her shot. Only it wasn’t him!
• Bounty hunter, Cisco was following a man through Navajo land hoping to find answers to a 15-year-old, unsolved murder. Suddenly his window shattered and his car went out of control into a ravine.
What a way for the hero and heroine to meet! He wasn’t too happy about her mistaking him for her target, and she felt pretty guilty about it herself. She was a nurse before taking on the revenge trade, so she took him to the clinic where she used to work. These two were thrown together as the culminating war against the Skinwalkes was at its peak. Lots of interesting twists. Lots of involvement with previous heroes and heroines.
Love the cover art. Cisco is one tough, good-looking hombre, Sonnie is a tough, beautiful Navajo woman. A good match.
I learned quite a few things about the Navajo lands and culture from these books. And when our guide through Canyon de Chelly mentioned some of them I knew what he was talking about. I new the background of Changing Woman, Spider Woman and I knew not to mention the Skinwalkers. I recommend this series. After buying the last two in paperback I found the first four in the eBoutique.
