The Sheikh's Chosen Wife by Michelle Reid (HP 2254)

Back Cover:

She can save her marriage-by getting pregnant! A year has passed since Leona left her husband, Sheikh Hassan ben Khalifa Al-Qadim. She misses him very much, but what was the point of staying when she'd failed to deliver the one thing Hassan needed-a child and heir? When Hassan tricks her into returning to him, Leona is furious and puzzled. Why does he want her by his side again and back in his bed?

Favourite Scene: (makes me squeal the way the hero growls and bites, he names his boat after her, even though they were separated when he bought it)

'Does it have a name, this sheikh's floating palace?' she enquired laughingly.
'Mmm. Sexy Lady,' he growled, and lowered his head so he could bury his teeth in the side of her neck where it met her shoulder.
'You're joking!' she accused, turning round in his arms to stare at him.
'Okay.' He shrugged. ‘I am joking.'

Another Fav Scene: (mmm, hero is so romantic)

'I really hate you sometimes.' She wanted the last word.
'Whereas I will love you with my dying breath and when they lay us in our final resting place in our crypt of gold it will be like this, with the scent of your beautiful hair against my face and my hand covering your lying little heart'

Yet Another Fav Scene:

On a sigh, he scooped her up in his arms again and stood up.
'Where are you taking me now?' she questioned.
'Bed,' he answered bluntly. 'Preferably naked, so that I can hold you and our child so close to me you will never, ever manage to prise yourself free.'

My Review:

Good and bad, he loves being chained to her by marriage, even though she considers herself bad news for him.  I usually am not a sheikh-fantasy kind of girl, but I have been loving MR's portrayal of sheikhs.  She makes them seem so alpha and dominant, but that's no negative, because their dominant behaviour is motivated by pure love and impatience for his heroine!  I love that MR's sheikh heroes will never let their heroine's go, and they know from the start that the reason they want to hold onto their heroines is LOVE.  This was a great book, I loved Leona and Hassan's relationship, they only wanted each other, and they didn't have any personal reasons keeping them from loving each other openly, their conflicts came mostly from pressures outside them: political stuff.  I loved that the hero gave her space for a year, but never intended to let her go, and once he decided her time for space was up, he held her to him as hard as he could, hugging her close.

Rating: 4/5 stars, really good book!  Intensely passionate and so loving I just wanted to make the hero love me instead.  *grin*
