The Sheikh's Convenient Virgin by Trish Morey (HP 2709)

Back Cover:

Sheikh Tajik al Zayed bin Aman needs a convenient bride, and custom demands that she must be pure. So when he first sees Morgan Fielding and is intrigued by her straitlaced style, an idea begins to form.... Morgan doesn't understand why Tajik is pursuing her--such a virile man could have any woman he desires! But once she arrives in Tajik's desert kingdom, he announces he will take her as his wife--and bedding her is only the beginning!

Favourite Scene: (she's napping in his bed on a plane, and aw he's happy to have her there)

‘Someone’s been sleeping in my bed,’ he muttered low under his breath, so not to disturb his sleeping visitor. ‘And, lucky for me, she’s still here.’

Another Fav Scene: (mmm, impatience!)

He growled in frustration. ‘This,’ he hissed through his teeth as he forced his hands behind her. ‘Off,’ he asserted as his fingers found her zip, dragging it down. ‘Now!’

My personal beef: (women's rights being ignored pisses me off)

‘So we are back to this.’ He sighed theatrically, as if her protests were a mere formality. ‘When are you going to accept that I have every right, given this is my country? The sooner you get used to it, the better for everyone concerned. You are mine now.’

My Review:

I am biased: I am not a sheikh kind of girl.  I really hesitate to read books about sheikh's because more often than not the hero dominates the heroine in an unsexy way: by denying the heroine her rights and freedom.  I don't find that sexy, and I think I definately fought this book as I was reading it, because I disliked seeing the heroine cornered and given no choice.  I don't feel like the heroine would have chosen this man or this life if she'd been given choice, and I like love to be a bit more natural than this.  I think the hero was a bit impulsive in deciding to marry the heroine, and I would have liked a few more hints to be dropped along the way, a few more indicators that the hero had met his Waterloo and bit the love bullet forevermore.  It would have made them seem irrevocably in love, rather than conveniently in love.  I absolutely adored the book about Tegan & Maverick (Tegan is the twin sister of Morgan, the heroine in this book).  I loved Tegan's story so much.  I liked the author's writing style in this one, I liked the dialogue, I thought it was a good balance of funny/impatient/sexy.

Rating: 3/5 stars, Couldn't personally adore this book, but I adored the companion book "The Boss's Christmas Baby"
