Shop Till You Drop

This is the first Dead End Job mystery.  I love these books, they amuse me and they are acerbic and enjoyable.  Curiously, however, I don't like the character.  She's an idiot.  She runs away from her ex and hides for the dumbest reason ever.  And she sleeps with anything with the right bits and pieces always seeming to view them as "the one" without any particular motivation.  But I like all the secondary and tertiary characters and the mysteries are interesting and different.  I like the ladies who worked in the shop and the customers.  Even the people who live in Helen's building are far more interesting than Helen herself.  But, MC aside, these books deliver an amusing mystery which is pretty much why I buy them.
