The Sicilian's Marriage Arrangement by Lucy Monroe (HP 2604)

Back Cover:

Hope Bishop is stunned when darkly sexy Sicilian tycoon Luciano di Valerio proposes marriage. Brought up by her wealthy but distant grandfather, she is used to fading into the background and being ignored.

But Luciano's sensual lovemaking makes her feel vibrantly alive. Hope falls in love with her husband and is blissfully happy-until she discovers that Luciano ruthlessly married her-for convenience!

Favourite Quote: (he wants her to promise not to be alone with other men)

"You’re being ridiculous. What do you want me to do, run from the room if I’m alone and another man comes into it?”
When he looked like he might agree, she glared at him. “That’s not going to happen.”

My Review:

Awww!  Very emotional read.  Sicilian man is blackmailed into marrying the granddaughter of a businessman.  Hope is innocent, guileless, and falling deeply in love.  She openly tells the hero she loves him, and at first he treasures that and is thankful to have gained her as his wife even through blackmail.  He is a man of honour and their relationship is based on respect and fidelity if not rosy love.  Then he "finds out" supposedly that she colluded with the grandfather in the blackmail, and he is angry at her and treats her with coldness.  The heroine is saddened by this change, feels like the love-making between them is now just sex, and it taints the pure happiness she went into this marriage with, there is a disillusionment.  This made me tear up, watching someone get disillusioned is very sad.  However, happily the hero regrets his anger and coldness, decides to overlook the blackmail, and wants the love of his wife back.  They clear up their misunderstandings and start their marriage again with love as the basis.

Rating: 4/5 stars, will definately pull at your heart strings.
