Silent on the Moor by Deanna Raybourn-MIRA-2009
Silent on the Moor
#41-Once again,Nicholas Brisbane insists Lady Julia stay away as he has inherited Grimsgrave Hall which is in desperate need of repair. He has invited Portia to come help him,but as usual when Lady Julia hears mention of his name, she right away makes plans to join Portia and servants despite many objections..
Brisbane is his usual odd self when he sees Lady Julia, becomes upset and leaves-will these two ever find a happy medioum in their lives?!
Left to her own,Lady Julia manages to discover some very disturbing things-a priest's wall which holds a coffin and 2 tiny mummies who had blond hair and weren't ancient. Once she starts delving into past history of the Allenby family life becomes even more mysterious and dangerous. Then Nicholas joins the adventures and makes it all the more eventful.
I definitely enjoy the Lady Julia Grey series as they keep me guessing right from the start and never let down as to the next incident or clue or mystery. Plus the places they travel to and the descriptions of the people, time period, and all about it makes me feel I am right there in that time with them. If you haven't read this one in the series, you do need to as life following Julia and Nicholas is anything but dull!
