Silent in the Sanctuary
I enjoyed reading Silent in the Sanctuary, by Deanna Raybourn even more than Silent in the Grave. Warning: spoilers ahead.
I really liked the setting for this story. The descriptions of the March estate were fascinating and helped to set the tone for the mystery.
I also liked that fact that Raybourn managed to make a houseful of characters unique from each other and interesting as well. She did a great job of describing the animal characters too. Anyone who has had a dog can relate to the way that they appropriate one's things with authority!
However, my favourite part of the book was the scene in which Julia seems to channel Jane Eyre and declares herself to be the equal of Brisbane. I can't wait for the next one!
