So after reading Silent in the Grave, I was extremely excited to read Silent in the Sanctuary.  This book had been sitting on my bedside table for awhile, just waiting for me to dive in.  And my question is:  Why did I wait so long???

I enjoyed this book even more than Silent in the Grave!  The story picks up five months after the first.  Lady Julia Grey has spent some time in Italy with her brothers recovering from the drama that took place in the last book.  Their father summons them back to England for Christmas, which will be spent in their childhood home; an ancient Abbey.

There, Lady Julia finds that she is one of many quirky houseguests.  Amongst the houseguests are some cousins, some friends and much to Julia's surprise, Nicholas Brisbane!  Of course, a murder occurs and Lady Julia and Brisbane must track the killer down.  The investigation is made even more difficult when the houseguests are closed off from the outside world by a snowstorm.

I loved the cast of characters in this book, and that the book takes place primarily in one very intriguing setting.  I also loved the witty dialogue, interesting subplots, and the romantic tension between Lady Julia and Brisbane.  All these factors make Sanctuary a great read.  I can't wait for the next book in the Lady Julia Grey series!Laughing
