The Single Dad's Patchwork Family (HR Apr-08)
When Chase Mattner met Regan Jantz at a business meeting to promote Japanese tourism along the Austrailian South coast, he was just being friendly to someone who looked as if she didn't want to be there either. She was there because she ran the family tuna farm started by her deceased father and almost ruined by her ex-husband. He was attending on behalf of his friends who ran a business which allowed people to swim with the sea lions and the dolphins. Chase's wife died of cancer shortly after she gave birth to their daughter. She chose to have her daughter rather than treatment for cancer. Chase gave up being a lawyer and moved to an isolated cabin on Leo Bay. When Regan almost passes out, Chase takes her out of the meeting room and gives her dinner. When Reagan phones to thank him , he asks her if she can bake. She and her boys go to Leo Bay to make a bithday cake for Phoebe, Chase's daughter.
This is a story of two heart weary people learning to trust their feelings for the sake of their children. It has a really fun scene where they all swim with the sea lions. It is a quick read with a great story line. I looked up a few places in Austrailia after and so I had a mini vacation in my mind.

My husband and I quite often google sites that I read about. I love books about Australia and have gone to the library many times to get picture books to put visuals in my reading. We also google trees flowers wildlife etc. Australia has such diverse natural things than North America that we need to see them. Really enjoyed your book.
