Amanda Marion is independent, a school teacher and the President's daughter. Kiowa is told to keep an eye on Amanda. She has 4 secret service who are watching over her while still trying to give her some space.
With the Breed law coming up Kiowa is charged with keeping an eye on her. Since, if she is held hostage the President would not vote in favor of the Breeds. When he sees her being kidnapped he has no choice but to stop it and find a safe place for her.
