This book wraps up the trilogy of the "Sons of Privilege". I'm very sad that it's ended and am hoping perhaps that some of the Daughters will get their own stories so that Christos, Tristan and Gui can be revisited along with their lovely wives, Ava, Sheri and Kara. *HINT HINT*.
If I had to pick a favorite hero from these, I'm not sure I could. If I had to pick a favorite heroine--the same thing. However, I related a lot to Kara, the heroine in the Spanish Aristicrat's Woman. Katherine has a very heartfelt Dear Reader in which she explains that Kara is close to her, although, having met Katherine I'd never guess that she felt that way. Of course, she could say the same thing about me if she wanted too. Kara is the sister who isn't skinny or gorgeous--she's a size 12. But she's never been tiny, but as women, we all know that no matter what size we are, we still want the Fairy Tale.
Lori Foster once said, men don't care abut sizes or flaws, all they care about is seeing us naked. *vbg* That may be true, but we still need to feel sexy and when you have a hang up like that, you need someone who is going to be patient and kind and demanding of you to stop feeling that way. Gui is exactly the man to make Kara feel like a princess. Only Gui has sworn off love and Kara is in this love triangle--his past and his future.
This book was extremely well-written. It was true to life and true to both of the characters and it sucked me in from page one. I was a bit skeptic about this one, trying to figure out how Katherine was going to pull this off and make it work, but she totally did. What a wonderful way to wrap up a series--er, well, wrap this one up. I can only hope to see more of the characters that popped into my imagination in the future.
Spanish Aristocrat's Woman
by Katherine Garbera
When Count Guillermo de la Cruz announced his engagement to plain-Jane heiress Kara deMontaine just minutes after meeting her, the jet-set gaped in shock. But none was more stunned than Kara. The man of her dreams had just offered marriage—as an act of revenge against his former lover.
She should have said no. But something in Gui's primal stare showed her he was far from indifferent to her. Could Kara tame this royal playboy and show Gui they could find happily ever after…with each other?
