Alannah came to the hospital to meet Raul to tell him the awful news that she knows he would react terribly to, but she must tell him before he finds out elsewhere.  Then Raul came in and all the old feelings swamped her even at time like this.

Against his better judgement Raul comforted Alannah when she broke down about her brother's death and he felt he needed to extend a helping hand to her and take her home. 

Alannah could not tell him the news so she invited him to her apartment and when she told him and he reacted as bitterly as she expected they had a lot of hurtful words between them and once again they parted on terrible terms.

Then needing comfort she decided to take his phone to him and one thing led to another and they consumated their long standing relationship.  When Raul realized that she was still a virgin he convinced her to marry him to heal both their families from their tragic lost.  She agreed because of her love for him.

The book was okay, I simply felt that it took too much time for her to tell him her news, I kept sucking my teeth when she did not get on with it.  Maybe I just wanted to get past it to the full story.
