This is a NASCAR fairy tail, but a good one.
Gabby O’Farrell was a debutante who toyed with different passions until she discovered car racing. With her father’s support she rose to the Nextel level. Now her beloved father is dead and her mother wants her to give up this unladylike profession and get married preferably to someone from her same social class. Vaughn Steiner, a former championship driver, is the owner of the team she races for. He is a widower with a 6 year old daughter who is being cared for by his mother-in-law when he is on the road. It has been a couple of years since his wife was killed and he is not looking for someone to fill the void. The chemistry is there though between the two of them. The situation is also complicated by the fact that it is Gabby’s family business which puts up the majority of her sponsorship money and her mother as CEO has the power to withdraw that support.
As I said this is a fairy tale and it has all the great elements a fairy tale needs. Ken Caspar has written great strong characters in H&h roles and also in the supporting roles. The outcome is what makes it into a fairy tale but such a happy one.
I am getting hooked on NASCAR books and this one really lived up to the other 2 I have read in this series.
When I get a little money I buy books, and then if any is left I buy food and clothes..-- Erasmus
