Stagecoach Capture by Layla Chase
From the publisher…
Boarding a westbound stage in San Antonio, US Marshal Slade Thomas realizes all three female passengers resemble the wanted poster for a bank robber. The audacious and playful behavior of one passenger, Jessimay "Jazzy" Morgan, especially draws his attention--and suspicions... Jazzy, a former prostitute, is intent on a respectable future built on the money she earned in Miss Veronica's Pleasure Emporium. Polite society is more taxing than she imagines, however, and a flirtation with the handsome stranger on the stagecoach flares into a rousing night of passion in which she loses a little bit of her heart... The following day, when the stagecoach is robbed and the women kidnapped, Jazzy is crushed at leaving a beaten Slade behind. Planning an escape against huge odds is tough, but confessing her past to a respectable man like Slade is almost impossible. And Slade must also make a decision that could change his life--capturing the bandits, or saving Jazzy...a choice between his duty and his heart.
This book was a delightful surprise. Jazzy is refreshingly fun. One look at Slade and she knows he’s a man so out of her league but she wants him. But how does a “respectable” woman seduce a man of caliber? Slade keeps his identity hidden much to his later regret. He’s certain that Jazzy is hiding something and it must be that she’s the female bank robber. There are some fun twists and turns in this one. The sexual tension between Jazzy and Slade builds wonderfully, and the love scenes are passionate. I love the choices that Slade seemed to make automatically. What a great hero! If you like sexy historical westerns, this is a good one.

Wager of Seduction by Layla Chase
From the publisher…
On a visit to his hometown, Brady Keegan has only one goal: see Kyra Whittaker, the girl from high school who haunts his memories. On a phone call during Kyra's research experiment at an amusement park, Brady urges her past the limits of social propriety...but she’s arrested. After arranging for her release, he takes her to the privacy of his father’s law office so he can get details for her case. What he really wants, however, is to set the record straight and to see if their temperatures still rise whenever they’re within two feet of each other. Kyra can’t believe the man she’s never forgotten is back in town and challenging her about her sociological research. Brady hasn’t changed—he still has the same confidence she drooled over years earlier. But this time she won’t run away from his heated touches. Vowing to show him how much she’s matured; she bets him he won’t let her set the pace. The wager? Seduction.
This one was just OK. The premise was a little confusing at the beginning. Brady was upset with Kyra’s research project but we didn’t get know what that was until later and it wasn’t really explained well. Had this been a longer format, I’m sure Ms. Chase would have developed that more fully, but as it sits it’s incomplete. Much of the history between Kyra and Brady is left up to the reader’s imagination, but the sexual tension develops nicely. It’s okay for a quick read but nothing special.
