Midnight Angel by Carly Phillips
Famous hearthrob and actor, Dylan North, has gone home for the first time since he left after high school. The town that was so stifling when he was a teen now seems peaceful and quiet, a pleasure after the hectic life he leads in Los Angeles/Hollywood. Everything Dylan sees reminds him of his high school sweetheart, Holly Evans now Dr. Holly Evans. He is so proud of her but is not sure she has any idea how much she still means to him. The main reason Dylan is home for the holidays is to see just what his feeling are for Holly. He has no idea if she will even see him which is why he is headed to her office on pretense of getting a flu shot!
When Holly discovers Dylan standing in her office she has a gamut of emotions running through her system, shock, pleasure, anger! She hasn't forgotten how Dylan just left after high school leaving her a note, no goodbye, no discussion that he had changed the plans they had made. Now that Dylan is so successful as an actor she can't imagine that he would have any interest in her. She is way to willing to believe everything she reads about him.
Will Dylan persuade Holly that he does love her, he was young and made mistakes leaving like he did, can Holly trust what he tells her, after the bright lights of fame and fortune how in the world would he be happy living in the small town where Holly practices medicine.
A most enjoyable story about high school sweethearts finding that there is true love even though they had to take different paths to appreciate their love.

Mine at Midnight by Jacquie D'Alessandro
Merrie Langston is not what the doctor ordered for stuffy accountant/financial planner or so he thinks! When Merrie shows up for a meeting late and in an elf costume Tom Farrell mentally shakes his head. It is obvious the woman has no head for busness. She hands him a Tupperware container full of receipts for him to look through. If only this woman would learn to file them properly!
In the middle of their meeting Merrie receives a call from Louis, the man she hired to play Santa for all her holiday bookings, she knows there might be trouble. Tom realizes that Merrie has just received unexpected news! Louis has eloped to Las Vegas and will not return until after Christmas. Although Tom seems like the least likely person to play Santa Merrie can't think of anyone else she could find on such short notice so she coerces Tom into filling in for the missing man.
Tom is surprised at how much fun he has with the children at the party and even more surprised to find out what an excellent, efficent elf Merrie is at the parties she plans. After the experience Merrie is able to talk Tom in to filling in for the rest of the week. What neither expects is the powerful attraction between them. Does Tom learn that there is more to Christmas than "Bah Humbig" and can Merrie put joy and love back in his life?
Delightful story of business acquaintance becoming more during the Christmas season. A good book to remind us that the holiday spirit is good anytime of year!
