In Stuck in Downward Dog, Mara's boyfriend leaves her. The day after her birthday. In a basement apartment she can't afford on her own. No explanation.
While I'm sure that hasn't happened to any of us, or at least, hopefully not so horribly, it's not an idea that doesn't ring far from the truth. Which is what inspired me to pick up this book. I'm also addicted to yoga.
What I loved about this book is that it wasn't your typical "everything goes bad, then works out perfectly in the end" story. It's more realistic. And while the story is essentially about how Mara bounces back from it all, it's not done in a cheesy way. A great read!

Just the name makes me want
Just the name makes me want to read it. And what you've written about it also means I'll be looking for it. With a name like that I'm pretty sure I won't forget it.
