My copy of The Sugar Rose is from 1987. I read a lot of
Regencies in those days and have saved a stash of my favorites. This is
definitely one of my top favorites.
The plot is a little dated (the heroine is "made over" by the hero)
but I overlook that and just enjoy the wonderful characters. Aurelia is
independent and funny--a precursor to some of my Julia Quinn favorites.
Everard is a beta hero from the era when alphas ruled the romance
world. Love him.
