That Summer Place-Anthology by Debbie Macomber,Susan Wiggs,Jill Barnett-MIRA-2005

#39-I just had recently saw this book advertised as reprinting and thought I would order it in future. Believe it or not,I found a box of over 50 books in a closet that I really don't remember even getting. Imagine my delight when I found a copy of this one from 2005.

Private Paradise by Debbie Macomber

Beth Graham, widow who had plans to spend a month in the lodge with her 15 yr.old son,Paul, and her friend Mary Jane Reynolds and family.Plans change for Mary Jane when her husband falls off their roof trying to fix a skylight.

Another consultant is sent,Dr. John Livingstone,a divorced dad to 12 yr. old Nikki, who is going through a rebellious stage. Uncomfortable doesn't really describe when the 4 meet and realize they are to share this place. Despite a rough start, they make an agreement which does work out in time for all involved.

Island Time by Susan Wiggs

Mitchell Baynes Rutherford III is impatiently waiting the arrival of Dr. Galvez for an appointment to discuss plans to build a marina. He becomes even more disturbed when a tangerine colored VW bug with salsa music blasting arrives on the ferry then limps off. Life gets even more interesting when he finds out the driver in the tight short red dress, high heel sandals, and floppy sun hat is marine biologist,Dr. Rosalinda Galvez "Rosie". She isn't alone ,but accompanied by her 2 chihuahuas,Freddy and Selena.

Rosie is a very laidback personality who lets everything fall as it may, while Mitchell is very time conscious and typical business owner. Their time on the island proves to be quite interesting-will they manage to explore the proposed project before they destroy each other?

Old Things by Jill Barnett

Needing to get away, divorced mom,Catherine Wardwell Winslow, and her 2 daughters-Aly and Dana arrive at the island with their cat,Harold. The girls are horrified with the entire place, but in time they adjust. Imagine Catherine's surprise when she finds her former love,Michael Packard when she is totally covered in mud. They renew their friendship amid many adventures and unknowns, plus the girls survive and come to also like the house and island.

I really enjoyed each of these and it made a nice summer read especially because of the island and how it affected those who stayed there.
