This book has been sitting on the TBR shelf quite some time, I'm so glad I decided it needed to be read!
Olivia Bellamy has been asked by her grandmother, Jane Bellamy, to restore the property at Willow Lake to its original glory. The camp has been closed for nine years which means there will be a lot of work to do. Olivia owns a company that stages homes for sale but this will be more than fluffling a few pillows and rearranging furniture. Jane Bellamy and her husband Charles are going to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary, repeat their vows and they want to do it at Camp Kioga where they met and were married. The job will be a huge undertaking but Olivia says yes. Being out of New York city for the summer while working on this project might be just what she needs to put another failed relationship behind her.
When Olivia arrives at Camp Kioga, near the small town of Avalon, she needs to find a general contractor to do the heavy restoration work for her. Her expertise is in design not building or carpentary work. The only contractor she can find is a Connor Davis, but surely not the Connor Davis she knew as a young teenager. Yes, you guessed it, it is the Connor Davis from her past. Their first meeting at the camp is under unusual circumstances but I will leave you to discover that when you read the book!
Susan Wiggs always gives a well written story with lots of layers. This book combines the present and the past giving you an interesting look at the life of the rich and privileged, how the past comes into our future and making you wish you could spend a week or maybe a summer at Camp Kioga. Some of the secondary characters in the book will also show up in future books of this series.
