The Surgeon’s Marriage Demand by Maggie Kingsley, M&B Med Rom, 2004
This book was written several years ago, but it still has the tension and drama that marks her writing as hers. My dd noticed that I started it at 10 pm and at the 6:30 am breakfast table I had 5 or 6 more pages to read and it was finished. And no, I did not stay up all night reading. I admire the blend of strengths and vulnerabilities Kingsley gives her characters—it helps to make them seem real, as if they could walk off the page. Thumbs up!
Dr. Olivia Mackenzie moves in on consultant Seth Hardcastle’s turf and he is not happy. In fact, she gets the job that he thought he wanted. To add insult to injury, he has a mishap at home that forces him to move in with Olivia. Then the sparks really start flying, but what catches fire?

Any chance I could hire you as my agent?

LOL, anyone want to hire me
LOL, anyone want to hire me as a reader?
Maggie: there are more than a few authors in the Med Rom line that are very good at building tension and drama in their books. And you are one in the top tier. Writing tight enough for the limited word count is not easy, but a few of you make it look easy. The funny thing is despite the intensity and fast pace of many of the books, they don't feel rushed. It is a skill and you have it.

I just discovered Medicals(since I started in here) and besides Maggie is there anyone else I should be looking for? I have read a Marion Lennox but I liked her from other lines. I have bought some at UBS and the ones I have read are quick very interesting reads.
PS I loved your capping ceremony story. 2 of my cousins and 1 aunt have pictures of themselves with roses and nurses caps on heads. I miss the caps on nurses. It was probably a pain to maintain though.

Olivia Gates writes
Olivia Gates writes medicals, Amy Andrews, Fiona Lowe, along with Maggie, they are the first that come to mind. But go to the forum area and find the medical forum. I have only read one or two medicals that I didn't like very well and that had to do with style, not skill of the author. (I am not a Presents fan, so when I read something in that style--strong alpha male, weak sister female--I'm not so thrilled at the end of the read.
Now there is nothing wrong with a strong alpha male and a strong female, so, it is not the alpha I react negatively to, it is the huge imbalance of power that I don't care for.

Thanks Nancy
I do have one of Olivia Gates' book as she was the one I was looking for and then I discovered Marion Lennox wrote for the line which I must admit was a really good surprise.
