The Surgeon’s Secret Baby Wish by Laura Iding HMR #362

sheandeen
Format: Print Books

Naomi Horton is a pediatric trauma surgeon, one unsuccessful marriage and a miscarriage behind her. New boss, Rick Weber, arrives and Naomi finds she is drawn to him. One medical conference later results in an unexpected pregnancy. What will they do?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book—there is just something about expectant mothers and the combination with pediatrics. Better line-by-line editing would have been nice. When missing words bounce me out of a story, at least three times I start getting annoyed. Fortunately, Idling is a terrific writer, this worked to overcome my annoyance. Thumbs up for the writing, thumbs down for the editing.

Amy, there were enough

Amy, there were enough editing errors in this book (and I never blame an author for them) that a less skilled writer would have had me tossing the book across the room. LOL, although I bounced out of the story Iding pulled me back in every time. She tells a lovely story!

I have one of hers I want

I have one of hers I want to read soon.  I loved the one I have read.

I read a non-Harlequin mystery that had some editing issues.  Normally I don't pay attention to  things like tpyos etc but this one mystery really needed more editing.  She built up this while scene and then dropped it and said no more.  Huh?  Continuity issues.

Can ignore a few minimal

Can ignore a few minimal editing issues, but when they take over, either because there are too many of them, or because parts of scenes are missing I get annoyed. But I really loved the way Iding told this story.
