Sweet Spot by Susan Mallery

JanaBelle
Format: Print Books
Series: HQN

After the frustrations I experienced with the previous novel in this series I wasn't really expecting to like this one. However, I was pleasantly surprised. While Nicole is still a sort of abbrasive character at times, in Sweet Spot she's not quite as offensive as in Sweet Talk. I don't know if it's just because you gain a better understanding of why she is the way she is or if she's mellowed out enough that her crankiness is more fun that before. Also, you get to see a different side of her. A more fully developed Nicole. And she and Hawke are explosive together.

Towards the end of the novel the story does veer off into a direction that had me super frustrated and rolling my eyes. That wasn't enough, however, to make me dislike the book as a whole.

All in all, I did enjoy this one much better than the last.

"It's not denial. I'm just very selective about the reality I accept."
