Take Me by Cherry Adair, Blaze 8/2002

Format: Print Books

Jessie is shocked when the stranger in the last booth says "Marry me" as  she approaches to take his order.

Seven years ago Jessie married Joshua Falcon when he came into the diner where she was working.  Joshua needed to marry in order to retain his 50% of the company his father and uncle built.  His uncle decided that Joshua and his cousin Paul had to settle down before taking over the business.  Joshua is not at all happy about that but is determined to retain what is rightfully his.  He offers Jessie a proposal she can't resist.  After saying their "I do's" at Lake Tahoe they part ways without Joshua so much as giving her a glance.

Jessie has decided that before she asks Joshua to sign divorce papers she wants to get pregnant, by him.  He hasn't seen her in seven years and doesn't even know her real name.  They have had no contact since the rushed marriage at Lake Tahoe.  Jessie has changed, she looks nothing like she did the night Joshua made his outrageous proposal. She has gone to school to become an interior designer that lead her to working at a firm where she is building her own list of clients.

Joshua is very attracted to the woman his uncle has introduced him to.  He decides to offer her his usual contract to be his "calendar girl".  Jessie is at first offended but learns that Joshua isn't always "the Glacier" as the media has dubbed him.  He is a very successful, wealthy international businessman with no real personal life.  Jessie slowly melts the ice where Joshua has lived, bringing him into the warmth of a relationship.

A delightful affair that surprises both parties by becoming much more.

Nice review Donna - I can't remember whether I've read it

or whether it's one of the few Blazes I haven't read, and with the hard disk that crashed and lost all my back files I can't check

Hope you're not too tired with your move

Hugs

No more excuses, just READ!

Read this

years ago and really liked it but then I really like Cherry Adair's fast paced action in her books.
