It's Serena Comino and her cousin's turn to stay on a Greek island and help her grandparents out. It's a family custom that the grandchildren stay to help their grandparent's for six months with fishing and the Vespa rental business. Serena is in her 5th month when she meets helicopter pilot Pete Bennett. He is filling in for a friend while the friend recuperates from a broken leg. Serena doesn't want a long term commitment and neither does Pete so they agree to no falling in love. Since they are both only going to be on the island a short time they agree on brief. And because she is partly Greek, she has a very over protective family, another stipulation has to include being discreet. But Pete ends up falling in love. Serena has her life plan all mapped out. Will her plans include Pete?
This book was another humorous one but also had some very intense moments woven into it. Awesome read. Another for the keeper shelf.

yup
This is one that came in the mail Tues along with the next read Sleeping Partner. On my ventures to find the right cover for Sleeping Partner I checked out Julie Cohen website because SP has two stories. SP and All Work and No Play by Julie Cohen. The NA title for AWaNP is Mistress in Private

I'm way, way behind in my
I'm way, way behind in my blogging.... but I LOVED this book too.
I'm dropping some favourite scenes for amusement value, thought you'd like to read/relive them! (I think I had like, 8-10 fav scenes I typed up for this book, I'll put 'em all in my review eventually for fun's sake)
(hee hee! Nice that Nico is warning him off, and Serena teases back at Pete)
Nico shot a warning glance in Pete's direction. "A man of honour would not abuse my hospitality."
"Are you a man of honour, Pete Bennett?" she asked him.
"I can be," he said with another one of those lazy grins that made breathing a challenge.
"I'll dress platonic," she told him.
"Appreciated," he murmured.
(Over-protective family, love it. Serena just told Pete about how her father and uncle gutted a shark in the front yard when her first date showed up to pick her up)
"My brothers and I took over the raising of Hallie. You'd like her. You could swap stories. My youngest brother could get downright creative when it came to deterring her more persistent suitors. He works for Interpol these days. He'd have LOVED a shark as a prop."
(They talk about what the hero would need to do to get approval from her family. They joke/negotiate over kids, awww!)
"You should probably stick to talk of undying devotion to me, an exceptionally large income, a huge wedding, and your longing to help produce half a dozen children in very short order."
"HOW many children?" he spluttered.
"Oh, okay, five then. But that's my absolute minimum."
"You want FIVE children? In very short order? Are we SURE about this?" She didn't look all that sure. "Two," he said firmly.
Another favorite scene...
Did you like it when they were on the Vespa and she was running her hands on his shirt creating wrinkles and eliminating other wrinkles. when he asks what she's up to, she answers, "Ironing."
I nearly fell over laughing!

Amazing book
I loved, loved, loved, how the entire village conspired to keep their relationship "pure" and "above board". I loved how the poor guy couldn't buy a drink anywhere on the island in case alcohol lead to improper behaviour.
Well done, Kel.

Amy I loved that too... I just wanted to say "too late" and have them leave the H/h in peace to misbehave as much as they wanted.
It was HILARIOUS of course.
So right...
Those scenes were great!
Mrs Papadopoulos was a riot! Couldn't you just imagine her in her bathing cap?
And your right, the way Pete Bennett was always refused alcohol was funny...
