Texas Heir by Linda Warren-Harlequin American Romance-Sept.08

Aunt Cheryl
Format: Print Books

#57-Right away I could relate to Cari Michaels when her day was one of those "take 2 Tylenol"ones which was after her alarm clock died, then she fell after her heel broke on her one shoe. All this before a meeting with CEO Reed Preston and the other executives of Dalton's Department Store. To add insult to injury,Reed announced his engagement to Daphne Harwood with a spring wedding to follow. What other surprises await Cari as she and Reed have to fly together for a business trip to El Paso? How about a thunderstorm that causes their plane to crash?

Cari and Reed are now left to survive the elements despite their injuries-rattlesnakes,scarce water,2 unfriendly illegals, cactus, and the usual in the west Texas desert. During this time alot of mixed emotions affect the 2,plus some truths surface which Reed tries to deny.

Once they are rescued, does Reed have to come face to face with the truth,no matter how it hurts or changes things? What about Cari, will her life ever be back on a seemingly normal level after spending so much time alone with Reed?

Linda Warren has done it again with another winning book which was a spin-off with Cari and Reed. I had to finish it in one setting as I was hooked right from the start with Cari's bad day which got even worse. The plane crash and all it involved just added such deep emotions while reading. I felt as if I was right there with them through that ordeal and time in the desert, and must admit,I am glad I only experienced it this way, know I couldn't do it and survive in real life as they did. A great ending is in store for you ,and I do highly recommend this to everyone, thanks ,Linda!
