Thicker Than Water
I’ve been wanting to read Maggie Shayne’s stuff for a while, and since I’m not sure I’m ready for werewolves and vampires, I picked this romantic suspense of hers instead. The heroine, news anchor Julie Jones, has a secret that could threaten her daughter’s life. The hero, fellow reporter Sean MacKenzie, has to help Julie when a faceless enemy seems determined to destroy Julie’s life. All of it is connected to an event that happened 16 years ago, at a haven for runaway teens that wasn’t all that of a haven…
I liked this book a lot. Julie and Sean had great chemistry, and the mystery kept me guessing the entire time. I totally want to read more Maggie Shayne now. Any suggestions?

Hi Elle
This book is the first in a trilogy--the other two books are Colder Than Ice and Darker Than Midnight. Another of her earlier rom/sus books is The Gingerbread Man which is excellent. I love Maggie's rom/sus books but have no desire to read the vampire ones. She also wrote SIMs and did a whole series on the Brands. I've read some of them and they are good also.

Hi Elle...
Glad to see you are getting a chance to read & posting a review. This sounds like good reading. I love romantic suspense.
Are you getting a break from writing? Can't wait to hear about when your books will be published & out.
Take care, happy reading,

Mary, thanks for the head's up
on the trilogy. I had no clue! But that just goes to show how well Maggie did making this book a stand-alone. Some trilogys tend to confuse me because if you read them out of order you're pretty much f**#!ed LOL! I'll have to pick up her other ones now. I'm with you on the vampires, though. I just can't seem to get into those, no matter who the author is!

Am I getting a break from writing? Uh, NO!
LOL! I've pretty much been at the computer for the past two months, doings edits for my e-titles, working on my revisions for Blaze, and waiting for any possible final revisions for SRS. I was hoping to start something new this summer, but looks like that won't happen any time soon!
I have tentative release dates for my Blaze and SRS (March and April) and the second I have details about the covers and dates, I'll make sure the dream team is the first to know!

Colder Than Ice is Elizabeth Marcum's story and Darker Than Midnight is Dawn's story. Maggie does do a good job of writing books that can stand alone. I hope you enjoy them too and Gingerbread Man which is my favorite MS book.
