THREE SISTERS ~~~ A Charlie Moon Mystery ~~~ by James D. Doss [Other 23]

This latest entry into the Charlie Moon/Daisy Perika mysteries reminded me a little of a very grisly Winnie the Pooh.  The story was so gripping that I had trouble putting it down.  I'd think it would help if you'd read earlier entries into the series.  (I have.)  James D. Doss is a gifted writer.  If you're looking for a mystery that isn't just like anything else you might be reading, look no further.  (Warning: the murder is extremely grisly.  No pun intended.)

There are too many twists and turns for me to go into here, and enough fascinating peripheral characters to make you want even more.  I really love this series (though usually not the murders).  Charlie and Daisy are such real characters that you feel as though you know them as well as their friends and enemies.  I recommend not only this, but every book in the series (I've read most of them, and am looking for the rest) starting with the first one, which I think is The Shaman Sings.  If these ever go out of print, they'd make a wonderful addition to Harlequin's Worldwide Mysteries line.
