The Titan's Curse (Percy Jackson and the Olympians Book 3)

The Titan's Curse opens with Percy, Annabeth and Thalia (a daughter of Zeus--I mentioned the twist at the end of Book 2, right?) answering a distress call from Grover, who has found two demi-gods at a boarding school.  In attempting to rescue these demi-gods, Annabeth falls from a cliff and disappears, and the younger rescuers are themselves rescued by Artemis and her Huntresses.  Artemis sends the demi-gods (sans Annabeth), her Huntresses and Grover back to camp Half-Blood so that she can continue to track an ancient monster.  Artemis herself disappears and two of the Huntresses in the company of Thalia and Grover go to hunt her.  Percy's main goal is to find Annabeth, so he follows the quest group.  He ends up joining them as they battle the Nemean Lion.  As the group travels across country, they are followed by the dragon's teeth warriors.  They group finds both Annabeth and Artemis and is able to rescue them with the help of Annabeth's father, Dr. Chase.  Of course, they learn that the ancient evil which has trapped them in both books 1 & 2 is once again behind the kidnapping and related events.

Once again, book 3 is a book that I would highly recommend to both adult and teen readers.

I have Book 4: The Battle of the Labyrinth, but I am trying to read it slowly and savor it.  I am a little worried that I am going to make myself crazy in waiting for Book 5, which will finish off Percy's story, as it will not be out until sometime next year.
