Tribute by Nora Roberts

This is Nora’s newest Single Title.  Cilla is the granddaughter of a huge child star – think Judy Garland-type who keeps doing well into adulthood.  Her suicide has haunted Cilla, who was also a child star, but rebelled in her twenties and is now working construction.  She purchases her grandmother’s old home from her mother and plans on renovating it.  Unfortunately, someone else doesn’t want to see the house renewed.  Ford lives across the street, the two meet when he thinks she is a vandal.  He is immediately struck by her.  Can the two create a life with each other, or will an outside party ruin their hopes and perhaps their lives.  I really enjoyed this story, Cilla was a great character.  I loved the slow build-up she and her father have developing their relationship.  I really enjoyed Steve and his relationship with Cillla.  I was a bit surprised by the villain, had it going in another direction.  Overall, an excellent installment. Totals – 106 - 72 Harlequin, 25 Non-Harlequin, 9 audio, 4 re-read TBR Challenge – 18 out of 97 TBR2 Challenge – Books Acquired – 68 books, 59 books read, 38 library books (97 total print) NFM
