Cilla McGowen grew up in the Hollywood spotlight as a famous childhood star. She is also the granddaughter of Janet Hardy, a legendary Hollywood star who committed suicide after the death of her teenage son. As an adult, Cilla is no longer in the Hollywood scene. She has started a new career flipping houses. She has decided to purchase her grandmothers old vacation home in Virginia from her mother Dilly. The old home calls to something in Cilla and as she starts her renovations, she feels as if she has finally found home.

Ford Sawyer is a famous graphic novelist who lives across the road from Cilla with is funny looking dog. The attraction between them is strong and soon Cilla and Ford find themselves beginning a relationship. As she goes through her grandmothers things in the attic, she finds old love letters to her grandmother. At first the letters are full of passion but the tone changes when it is found that Janet was pregnant with her lovers baby. Soon someone starts to vandalize Cilla's work and leaves her threatening messages. Someone wants Cilla to get out of town.

Cilla starts to wonder if her grandmothers really committed suicide or if she was murdered and could this be the same person who wants her gone.

I enjoyed this book very much. It was very good and had all the elements, that I enjoy from NR's suspense books. I like that NR gives a strong romance mixed in with her suspense books.
